Vol.2, pp. 683-691, Perth, Australia, 1998.
The aim of this paper is to discuss a new numerical technique aimed at
solving a wide variety of complex technical system optimization problems.
The main advantage of this technique consists of maximum economies of
a number of direct calls to a mathematical simulator of the system under
consideration during search of the solution. In the paper a brief description
of the basic algorithm of the proposed optimization method and an example
of its use for the problem of multistage axial flow compressor designing
are given.
